On 28 January 2021, project members delivered six presentations at two online seminars. At the second “TranSupport Engineering” forum held at Osaka University, Prof. Kenji Doi, who is one of the group leaders of the project, facilitated the forum, of which this year’s theme was “Mobility design toward a decarbonized and new-normal society”. During the forum, Dr. Kento Yoh and Prof. Ikuo Sugiyama delivered their presentations to a total of 90 participants, inclusive of online attendees.
Meanwhile at a Cambridge University online workshop, “Applied Urban Modelling (AUM) 2020: Modelling the New Urban World Online global workshop”, Prof. Yoshitsugu Hayashi, who is the Principal Investigator on the project from Chubu University, chaired a session on “Urban Transport in Societal Context”. In the workshop, project members delivered three presentations: Dr. Varameth Vichiensan of Kasetsart University, presented “New-normal Residential Preference in Bangkok”, Prof. Masanobu Kii of Kagawa University, delivered “Spatial Scenarios of Urban Core Functions under the Railway Extension – Case of Bangkok, Thailand”, and Mr. Witsarut Achariyaviriya, who is a scholarship student at Chubu University, spoke about “A Sufficiency based Spatial-temporal Planning for Daily Activity-travel Supporting New Normal for Flexible Working”. During the discussion session, Dr. Kazuki Nakamura of Meijo University and Dr. Hiroyuki Takeshita of Chubu University delivered a commentary on the presentations to the workshop’s 40 participants from international institutions.
