The project aims to contribute research outcomes for citizens by exploring measures to enhance individual quality of life (QOL) for transport and urban planning. To this end, the project prioritizes reaching out to citizens on project activities in an easy-to-understand way. On the other hand, it is an important mission for the project to publish academic papers to validate hypotheses with reliable evidence, which are strictly reviewed by professional reviewers.

On 31 August 2021, the Principal Investigator of the project, Prof. Yoshitsugu Hayashi (Chubu University) published as the chief editor a book in Japanese, Mainstreaming Quality of Life in Evaluation of Transport and Spatial Planning. The book consists of two parts: the first part introduces a model of QOL analysis evaluation and cases which Prof. Hayashi’s team has been studying for 20 years; the second part summarizes an international symposium on QOL mainstreaming held in April 2021. The book will be translated into English soon.
